Quick Start
Note: This quick start section is also included in the user documentation bundled with Alfred. Please consult it for more information.
Alfred aims at being user friendly and the application comes ready to use. Here are some basic instructions which will help you to start using the main functionalities. More exhaustive and detailed explanations are available in the user manual.
Installing files
Installing files with Alfred is very easy. Select the files you want to install in the Finder and then select the Install with Alfred item from Finder's contextual menu.
If you have not installed the Alfred contextual menu module, the same action can be performed by dropping the files you want to install on the icon of the application from the Finder.
Alfred will automatically move or copy those files to the appropriate locations. When several destinations are possible, it will however require your help to choose the right one through a dialog.
Managing files
To manage a given category of files:
Launch Alfred.
Select Alfred in the Window menu to show the main window if needed.
Select the category of files you want to manage in the list.
The corresponding manager will appear in the window.
The manager contains the list of the files which are currently installed in your system. The Installation menu and the button bar let you perform various actions like:
Moving files across domains.
Enabling or disabling files.
Moving files to trash.
